Placeholder — not final

This is a bare-bones placeholder Privacy Policy and has not yet been reviewed by an attorney. A complete Privacy Policy will replace this page once that review is finished. Nothing here should be read as a final or complete statement of how this tool handles your data — it is, however, an accurate description of current practice as of the date above.

1. What this covers

This policy describes what CrewRights™ ("the tool") collects, stores, and does with data when you use it. It covers the tool itself — it does not cover any other website or service, including afaalaska.org or Alaska Airlines' own systems.

2. What we collect

Today, access is by admin-issued access code — there is no name, email, or password required to sign in. Specifically, we store:

  • A pseudonymous user ID tied to your access code — never your name.
  • The text of the questions you ask and the answers you receive, kept for 30 days from when you ask, then deleted. See Section 4 below.
  • Usage metadata — which pseudonymous ID asked a question, when, what category it fell into, and which contract sections were cited — kept longer than the question/answer text itself (up to 180 days) so we can track overall usage and answer quality over time.
  • Whether you gave a 👍/👎 on an answer, and any optional feedback comment.

3. How we use it

To generate answers to your questions (your question text is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, solely to produce a response to you), to monitor and improve answer quality and coverage, and to report aggregate, anonymized usage statistics to authorized union representatives. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

4. How long we keep it

The literal text of your question and the answer you received is deleted 30 days after you ask it. Aggregate usage metadata (which pseudonymous ID, when, category, sections cited, vote) is kept for up to 180 days to support quality reporting, and is then deleted. We do not keep either indefinitely.

5. Who we share it with

Your question text is sent to Anthropic (our AI provider) to generate an answer. The tool is hosted on Vercel and data is stored with Upstash; both act only as infrastructure providers on our behalf and do not use your data for their own purposes. We do not share your data with Alaska Airlines. Authorized union representatives may see aggregate, anonymized usage statistics only — never your individual question or answer text tied to your identity.

6. Payment information

This tool does not currently process any payments and does not collect or store any billing or financial information. If that changes in the future, this policy will be updated before that feature launches.

7. Changes

This policy — including this placeholder — may change at any time as the tool is developed further, including once a complete Privacy Policy is adopted following legal review. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent change.

8. Contact
